It drives me crazy then on Mac OS that I can't show and hide the note. One of nicest features that I personally find most useful on iPad is ability to quickly hide and show the quick note as you need it - using the globe-q command on keyboard or swiping from side if you don't have keyboard connected. It gives you the option of continuing your note, or starting a new one, but I don't want either of those - I want to be able to pick which quick note I'm using like on iPad. Not being able to change the quick note you are working from (like how you can swipe between your quick notes on iPadOS) really makes it totally useless.

When you click the hot corner, having the full Notes app come up and take over your screen totally defeats the whole purpose of quick notes imho. The use of hot corner I guess makes some sense since it's leveraging existing functionality - easy to enable, disable, but it's a lot less satisfying than swiping from the corner (but will generally let this one go.)

I was honestly pretty shocked at how bad the implementation was, considering how good I think the iPad OS version is. I was so hyped for this feature, and now, if I'm not doing it in the one way where it actually opens the app in split screen mode (which is the slowest of the 3 options), it is absolutely useless for people like me who spend majority of their time in fullscreen/splitscreen.

It's simply a goddamn shortcut for opening a new note in a normal notes app window.Īnd the worst of all: opening it through the keyboard shortcut or with the active edge thingy, it doesn't even open the notes app in split screen mode if in fullscreen, but only a window on the main desktop, that you need to go to manually and aren't even swapped to instantly. I was hyped when quick note was announced for macOS, expecting it to be similar to the feature in iPadOS, where it's a hovering window above a fullscreen/splitscreen view, which would have been amazing, as I spend most of my time in macOS in fullscreen or split screen mode. It became my primary note taking app even though it's lacking some features I need or would like, however it has some amazing features, especially on the iPad, that no other app has, such as quickly starting a note by tapping on the screen or the amazing quick note feature that recently was introduced. I use the notes app a lot, throughout all my apple devices.
